Healing Waters

‘And it shall come to pass, that everything that lives, which moves, wherever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come there: for they shall be healed; and everything shall live where the river comes.’ _{Ezekiel 47:9 NKJV}

Water is a sign of God’s blessing and presence. By believing in Christ we receive rivers of living water. Fish also represent the multitude of believers. The painting depicts a great depth of water teeming with fish. The light hovering over the sea is a gift of healing and evangelism.

The fish are not in plain sight, but hidden, paralleling how we are hidden in Christ. They are under the water, with the evidence of their presence being the many seagulls gathered. This represents the evidence of Christ being the glory and grace perfected in your lifestyle, rather that an academic knowing. You are called to shine to those who do not look upon the surface waters, but those who dive deeper into the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven. The love of Christ in you is reflected in those who are gathered to you.

The verse speaks of where ‘the rivers shall come’ _{Ezekiel 47:9}, meaning where the waters of the Dead Sea are turned into the healing waters of life. The salt becomes sweet. The children of rage become children of love. As proof of authentic healing, the water teems with life. This represents the great change the gospel makes, both physically and spiritually, as people are ‘made alive’ in the Kingdom.

Just as physical strength increases with exercise, and the gifts of the Spirit increase by being utilized, true grace grows in the increased light of a renewed heart. As you walk and rest more in His grace, “grace” meaning God’s empowering presence in your life giving you the ability to perform as He has called you, the stronger your gift becomes.
