Two Sparrows

$67$97

‘Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.’ Matthew 10:29-31

I began this painting with a larger than life sun, half out of view giving the sense of being ‘passed by’. The fields and cherry tree in bloom make the impression that all is quite orderly and ordinary, however, two little birds on an odd branch stand out.

As first you may think this is such a much-used verse about your divine worth, but praying into this, I sensed several things are significant.

Firstly, this sparrow is not alone. In the natural, sparrows mate for life, they represent true spiritual connection and symbolize love and loyalty. I sense this has long been the cry of your heart, and one thing that you value most is deep connection with your soulmate.

The position of the birds “out on a limb” is also significant. The position of this verse is in the midst of the Lord repeating “Do not be afraid” several times. The Lord wants you to know no fear, as He knows exactly where He placed you, and yes, He made you ‘different’ and you will stand out from the crowd. He has perfect knowledge of the minutest detail of your life. He has the timing of your life in order, you have not been ‘passed by’; it is not too late, and you are exactly where He wants you to be. He has placed you on high, set amongst exquisite fragrant blooms, with a magnificent view of the sun upon His glorious Kingdom. God knows your seasons. The fully flowering cherry tree represents a short season of strong love, for soon the blooms will billow out into the wind and clothe the land in purity.

Sparrows do not build nests in trees, but on the ground amongst vegetation. They dwell openly. Little birds are musical chatterers and very purposeful about the busyness of life. They have been designed that way in the wisdom and complexity of our Creator.

There are many stories of small sparrows showing up supernaturally to give hope to someone discouraged, reminding them how God has not forgotten them in their time of need.

The Lord will certainly watch over you, but also He has given you the gift of being hope to others. You bring into your community the gift of friendliness, creative solutions, and the importance of simplicity. He has given you the gift of valuing others, just as He values them.

Description

Giclee Reproductions are printed with a 3cm white border.

‘Two Sparrows’ has been selected from the book 40 Days hath November to be reproduced as Giclee prints. Technically speaking, our prints are not prints at all, not in the common use of the term, but are fine art reproductions of original works. The quality is so high that it is difficult to tell between the reproduction and the original. Giclee Reproductions are premium high-resolution digital images produced on museum quality, Canson 300-320gsm Cotton Rag (fine cotton fibres woven into a paper-like product) printed with archival Canon Lucia EX 12-colour pigment high-performance inks. Canon Lucia EX pigment inks achieve an “under glass” permanence of 95 years for colour images.

Giclee can be confusing, as many may incorrectly assume that all digital printing is equal. Essentially Giclee (pronounced ‘zhee-clay’) is an invented name from the French word ‘le gicleur’ meaning ‘to squirt’. Originally coined in 1991 to distinguish between common digital prints and the highest quality form of art reproductions using wide-format inkjet printing technology. In 30 years, this technology has advanced enormously, giving an even wider distinction between Giclee reproductions and digital prints. However, we still use the word ‘print’ so that we are easily understood.

Fine Art Giclee Reproductions should be framed behind glass, using a matte to separate them from the glass. Consult your local framer for the best way to frame your reproduction and ensure your artwork still looks amazing for 3 – 4 generations.
