The trees are ‘singing’. These are not any trees; they are the fir trees along the beachside that I see from my window. It is a glorious sound, and it takes me to another realm, another dimension.
It is an odd thing that forest trees are beside the ocean, but early settlers deliberately planted them to stabilize the shore, chosen for their high tolerance of salt and wind. The trees symbolise resilience and adaptability.
The light in the painting is not natural. The glow is as though the sun is rising at night.
The name of the painting comes from Isaiah 60:13 ‘The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the juniper, the fir and the cypress together, to adorn my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place for my feet’.
Fir trees represent a hope-filled endurance, determination and an honesty that abides in the vulnerability of accepting challenges. The painting is about God making the place possible in your life where He walks with you.
It is an encouragement to have patience while the future manifests in the natural what is already established for you in the heavens.
